Domaine Houchart
A family-owned winery at the bottom of the Mount Sainte-Victoire
Since 1890, Domaine Houchart has been passed down from generation to generation. Located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence appellation, it is now run by Florence and Jean-Baptiste Quiot, heirs to a century of family expertise.
• Appellations: AOC Côtes de Provence, Cru Sainte-Victoire.
• Terroir: Limestone and clay-sandstone soils at the bottom of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, a preserved area swept by the Mistral wind, where later ripening brings balance and finesse.
• Varieties: Cinsault, Grenache, Tibouren, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Clairette, Rolle, Sémillon.
• Wine Style: Gourmet rosés, crisp whites, and full-bodied reds.
• Interesting Fact: The famous painter Paul Cézanne used to visit the estate in his youth; his carriage and sofa are still preserved in the family home.
