Presentation
The name Les Couversets is that of a very ancient bourgeois family from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The last descendant of this family to bear the name was Suzanne (a distant ancestor of the Quiot Family). The lands were passed down from generation to generation and are now fully integrated into the Quiot Family Vineyards.

Location
The Rhône Valley has always been a privileged passage between the Mediterranean world and northern or Atlantic Europe. Archaeological research, combined with historical studies, establishes the Côtes du Rhône as one of the earliest wine regions in the world. As early as 125 BC, the Romans planted vines and built walls to protect the terraces. They transformed this region into one of the most beautiful areas in Gaul Narbonensis.
This reputation continued to grow over the centuries and was officially recognized in 1937 with the designation of AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) for the Côtes du Rhône wines.
Terroir
Two terroirs:
- The alluvial terraces rich in pebbles (on the Plan de Dieu) provide the vine with consistent water supply and, during the night, release the heat stored during the day by the stones.
- The clay-limestone alluvial terraces offer a more contrasting water supply.
Varietals
Grenache noir
Syrah
Mourvèdre

Tasting
Deep red color, with aromas of blackcurrant and blackberry. On the palate, it offers freshness and a beautiful tannic persistence that mellows over the months.
